Frequently asked questions

Everything people usually ask before their first match. Still stuck? The contact page has an email address that a real person reads.

Is ChameleonPlay free?

Yes. The core game is free to play forever — no download, no trial, no time limit. There is an optional Advanced Pass and some individual items you can buy, but these are cosmetic and sidegrade content. Premium gear plays differently, never stronger, so free players are never at a disadvantage. Full details are on the pricing page.

Do I need to download or install anything?

No. ChameleonPlay runs entirely in your web browser. Open the game and you're in — there's nothing to install and no launcher.

Do I need an account?

No account is required to play. You can jump into a match as a guest. Signing in with Google is optional and only exists to save your progress — your XP, stats and any items you've unlocked — so they follow you between devices and sessions.

What devices and browsers work?

ChameleonPlay works on most modern desktops, laptops, phones and tablets using an up-to-date browser such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. The game uses WebGL for 3D graphics, so a reasonably recent device gives the smoothest experience. On phones and tablets, touch controls appear automatically.

How do I play with friends?

Create a Private lobby and share the invite link or lobby code, or have everyone use Join Code to enter the same room. The how-to-play guide walks through the modes in detail.

The game filled up with bots — why?

When there aren't enough human players in a room, matches fill with bots so you never have to sit in an empty lobby waiting. As more people join, humans take those slots.

How do payments and refunds work?

Optional purchases are handled by established payment providers (such as Razorpay, Cashfree or Stripe) — we never see or store your card or bank details. Our refund policy is on the refunds page.

What data do you collect?

If you sign in, we store your name, email and a user ID to save your progress and any purchases. In-match data (like your position) is processed only to run the game and is not sold. The full details, and how to request deletion of your data, are in the privacy policy.

Is it pay-to-win?

No. This is a core design rule: nothing you can buy makes you stronger than a free player. Premium equipment and maps change how the game feels, not how much you win.
